bar scenes 2006 - 2008

These drawings were initially created as part of my Master's Thesis exhibit "View from the Stage" at the Savannah College of Art and Design.  At this time, I was performing several nights a week with a local blues band and found my perspective on stage offered a unique, detached viewpoint of the crowd and individual narratives that unfolded throughout the evening.  As this series developed, I became less interested in the people and more interested in the spaces they inhabited.  I began removing the people to create emptier, less defined spaces.  This process eventually led to my next series, psychological interiors.
