Maggie Evans was born in Denton, Texas and raised in the mountains of Utah.  Growing up she formally studied classical piano, played french horn in high school and discovered electric bass as a teenager in her brother’s grunge band. 

Maggie has been performing regularly as a jazz vocalist and electric bassist for over ten years and has been fortunate to share the stage with international musicians such as Don Braden, Andy Snitzer, Chico Pinheiro, Jocelyn Gould and Frank Catalano.  Performance venues include the 2017 Savannah Jazz Festival, Kuumbwa Jazz and Blue Note Napa.  In 2013 she enjoyed a six-month residency at JZ Club in Hangzhou, China with her husband guitarist Jackson Evans.  She performs throughout the southeast United States with Jackson and other Savannah-based musicians including Howard Paul and Jody Espina.  Maggie is an Elrick Bass Guitar performing artist.    She performs every Wednesday (7:00 - 10:00 pm) with the John Brackett Quartet at Redfish Restaurant in Hilton Head, SC and every Friday and Saturday (6:30 - 9:30 pm) at Rancho Alegre Cuban Restaurant with the Jackson Evans Trio.  For additional upcoming gigs keep an eye on Maggie's Facebook page.
