Maggie Evans was born in Denton, Texas and raised in the mountains of northern Utah. Growing up, she studied classical piano, played french horn in high school and discovered electric bass as a teenager in her brother’s grunge band.

Maggie has been performing regularly as a jazz vocalist and electric bassist for over twenty years and has been fortunate to share the stage with international musicians such as Don Braden, Andy Snitzer, Chico Pinheiro, Jocelyn Gould and Frank Catalano. Performance venues include the Savannah Jazz Festival (GA), Kuumbwa Jazz (CA), Blue Note Napa (CA) and regular performances at The Jazz Corner (SC). In 2013 she enjoyed a six-month residency at JZ Club in Hangzhou, China with her husband guitarist Jackson Evans.  Locally, she performs throughout the southeast United States with Jackson and other Savannah-based musicians including Howard Paul and Jody Espina. You can see Maggie performing with The JodyJazz Trio every Friday (6:30 - 9:30 pm) at Rancho Alegre Cuban Restaurant in Savannah, GA.
